Since its launch,
the APAG card program has met with extremely
encouraging response. Numerous questions have
been raised by members and would-be members
regarding the benefits and usage of the card.
Here, we attempt to provide the answers to your
Frequently Asked Questions.
Frequently
Asked Questions:
Q:
Does Bukit Beruntung Golf & Country
Club (BBGCC) limit the number of flights of APAG
members?
A:
No, bookings are accepted on a first-come
first-served basis. To play on the weekend, it is
advisable to book at least 72 hours in advance.
Even with 36 holes, it is expected that there
will be congestion on the courses especially on
the weekend.
In view of this,
the APAG management is already planning ahead and
discussing with other clubs to offer similar
playing privileges to members.
Q:
Do I have the right to use the other facilities
at BBGCC?
A:
No, if you would like to use the other facilities
like swimming pool or badminton courts, you will
have to pay a fee as stipulated by the club. Your
membership only gives you access to the golf
courses.
Q:
As our monthly medal is held at BBGCC, are we
required to pay green fee?
A: Yes.
The green fee waiver is applicable for
independent play only and does not extend to
tournaments.
Q:
Is your monthly medal for golfers with valid
handicap only?
A: As
we use System 36, we are allowing members without
valid handicap to participate provided the member
is of a reasonable standard. The handicap will be
determined on the day itself.
Q:
Can I play every day at the "Clubs of the Month"?
A:
It depends on the club. Currently, most of them
only allow play from Mondays Fridays as
the weekends are reserved for their members. For
the latest updates on this program, please visit
our website for frequently or join our newsletter.
Q:
Will APAG work with more clubs to offer
discounted green fees?
A:
Yes, the management is constantly approaching
clubs, not only in Malaysia but also the region,
for better rates for members. Currently, there
are more than 50 clubs offering discounted green
fees to APAG and we hope to increase this to at
least 70 clubs by year-end.
Q:
Are the discounted fees offered to APAG always
the best deal?
A:
Not necessarily. Sometimes, the clubs will offer
promotional packages which are cheaper than the
APAG rates. Our advice is to take advantage of
these promotional rates they are only
offered for a limited time! Once the promotional
period is over, members can still fall back on
APAGs rates.
Q:
Do you plan to include more foreign courses to
your current list?
A: Yes,
by year-end there will be more regional courses
where members can play at special rates. Next
year, we plan to go further afield and will look
at destinations such as Australia and New
Zealand.
Q:
What about other golfing activities for members?
A: The
APAG Golf Series will be launched soon and this
will be held monthly. We will be creating an
"Order of Merit" for this tournament
series and the winner will receive a GRAND prize
at the end of the year.
Golf tours are
also in the pipeline and the first will take off
sometime in October. Watch out for this
announcement on our website.
Q:
Are friends (non-members) entitled to the APAG
rates if they go with members?
A: No,
the rates negotiated with the clubs are for APAG
members only. Your friends will have to pay the
club rate.
Q:
Can membership be transferred or the card loaned
to friends?
A: No,
membership is non-transferable. The clubs will
carry out identity checks. If a member is found
to have loaned his card to a friend, the card
will be confiscated and membership revoked.
Q:
Must a member report the loss of his membership
card?
A: Yes,
if he wants to continue enjoying the benefits and
privileges. A fee of RM50 will be charged for
replacement of the card.
Q:
Can APAG assist members in obtaining an official
handicap?

from August APAG will offer handicapping services
for members, however, to maintain the handicap,
members will have to sign up with MGA (Malaysia
Golf Association).
