| Bukit Banang Golf Course, situated
less than 1 1/2 hours from Singapore and
2 1/2 hours from Kuala Lumpur, has been
rated among the top ten golf courses in
Johor by the Asian Golf Review. It is an
international championship 18 hole par 72
course offering challenging golf
experiences to golfers of all levels of
skill. The fairways are turfed with
Bermuda Greenlees Park and the greens
with Bermuda Tifdwarf to ensure a true
putting surface. The first nine, called
the 'Valley Nine' plays into the hilly
undulating terrains of Bukit Banang with
picturesque winding fairways and sloping
greens. Possibly the most difficult hole
of the course, Hole 2 (par 5) is unique
with a large pond dissecting the fairway
into two. A good tee shot and a heroic
second shot will reward you with a par.
Hole 8 - at 215 metres, is the longest
Par 3 at Bukit Banang. The sloping green
is well guarded by two strategically
placed bunkers. A par on this hole is a
great achievement.
The returning Lake Nine is
comparatively tougher than the first nine
due to the numerous lakes and streams
that cut across the fairways. Accuracy
and good course management is the
solution to the more demanding Lake Nine.
Hole 13 is an interesting Par 3 but
not for the faint hearted. With the big
lake guarding the green, players must
position the ball perfectly or pay the
penalty. Hole 18 (Par 4), the signature
hole of the course is both scenic and
challenging from tee to the double-tiered
green. Achieving a par on this hole is
truly a rewarding experience.
