This matured and challenging 18-hole golf course was carved through a virgin jungle still preserves its natural beauty is a must play for golfing enthusiasts. Once they have played here, they will come back again to take up the Desaru challenge. This majestic course exudes an air of mystery, and becomes a journey of self discovery. Almost every hole is shrouded by the jungle with its own distinctive features.

All the 18 holes of this 6, 043-metre layout are moulded between lush tropical indigenous jungle trees with white, sandy beaches and the South China Sea is so close one can feel the sea breeze and taste the salty water. The first three greens of the second nine are set beside the sea with tough 12th hole beautifully laid out parallel to the sea on its left. The 1st green is also sculpted beside the sea, while the 2nd tee box has the sea on its right.

The 10th hole, a 434-metre par 5, requires the tee shot to carry the stream with bunkers at landing distance and jungle on both sides. The fairway narrows to the green with bunkers on both sides. The 13th hole with 463-metre par 5 is paralleled with the sea needs a careful approach from the too ambitious golfers as it is lining on both sides with trees, strategically placed bunkers and thick rough.

The 9th, a 513-metre par 5 is a blind finishing hole for the first nine which has no room for slightest error. Careful approach is required to ensure that the ball safely lands on the fairway and not in the jungle.

The 4th, a blind dogleg left 320-metre par 4, offers long hitter a chance for a courageous drive. But, as usual, there are trees, bunkers and thick rough all the way to the green. A very attractive par 3 is the 204-metre 7th with water and wind that can cause blemishes to an otherwise a perfect shot.

A blind slight dogleg left is the 320-metre 18th, with trees entertaining hooked or sliced tee shots. The stream is 90 metres before the sloping green bunkered left, right and at the back. This par 4 needs a well-placed tee shot for an easy approach for - a perfect finishing touch.
