Permaipura Golf &
Country Club ("PGCC") is a
sprawling 18-hole green haven that
provides the ultimate golfing challenge
to all walks of golfers. With a strategic
location just 15km north of Sungai Petani
town, it is easily accessible from the
North-South Highway via the Sungai Petani
North Interchange from the south, Gurun
Interchange from the north and through
the old Sungai Petani-Gurun trunk road.
PGCC is a buggy course
with fairways covered with Greenlees Park
and the greens with Bermuda Tifdwarf.
Though considered to be short and
friendly in outlook, the course also has
hidden elements of surprise with traps to
negotiate and risks to be taken once
challenged. The average golfers who play
with caution are always rewarded with
good scores. At PGCC, 95% of golf is
played from the shoulders up.
The clubhouse of Kedahan
architecture offers food and beverage,
pro-shop and other basic facilities to
golfers and the public alike.
From the Golfers' Terrace
over looking the 9th and 18th greens with
the majestic Gunung Jerai providing the
backdrop, the feeling of tranquillity
offered by the greenery and the serenity
of the surroundings often is
overwhelming.
