MILD SEVEN APAG QUEST 2003
2nd Leg :- Kota Permai Golf & Country Club - Selangor
27th February
Mode of Play :- System 36 - Modified Stroke Play

The second leg of the APAG Quest teed off at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club.  All the 120 members were ready at 7.30am to conquer one of the top courses in Malaysia. Kudos to all the participants for arriving on time… with our member, Vasantha Kumar, turning up at the registration desk at 6am !!

The competition produced a close finish and countback had to be used to determine the top 10 winners.  Hamzah bin Mohammed (4) emerged as the winner with a nett 70 on countback.  The fierce contest for the runners-up spot was won by Pua Yii Shiuan (8) also with a nett 70 .

Winners of Mild Seven APAG Quest 2nd leg Golf Tournament

Chan Kuan Yew (10) was satisfied with his third placing as this guaranteed him a spot in the final APAG Quest competition to be held on Bintan Island. Early bird, Vasantha Kumar (8), Bakhtiar bin Saham (10) and Hamdah Bin Tah (10) missed the top spots by one shot and had to be content with fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively.

The Longest Drive was won by “John Daly” Chan Kuan Yew with a whopping 276.8 meters.  Nearest-to-Line was won by Danny Lim Cheng Wai, missing the line by ONLY 0.54 cm.  Michael Ong was 1.10 meters away from the hole and this was enough to win him the Nearest-to-Pin award.

APAG Quest tournaments are supported throughout the year by York, Jaguar Timepiece, Adidas Eyewear, Pharmaton, Dunlop Golf, Power Bar, ParGolf, Strepsils, Tiger medicated plaster, Excel and Bleu mineral water, SunSense sunscreen and Red Hot card.

The next leg will be played at Awana Genting Golf & Country Resort (13th March) followed by Templer Park Country Club (27th March), Bukit Jambul Country Club (24th April), Kelab Rahman Putra Malaysia (29th May), Kristal Golf Resort (12th June), Monterez Golf & Country Club (26th June), Tiara Melaka Golf Club (31st July), Nilai Spring Golf & Country Club (14th August), Octville Golf & Country Club (28th August), Staffield Golf & Country Club (25th September), Ponderosa Golf & Country Club (30th October) and Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort (13th November).
