Golfers hold business meet
By NUR HAJAR MOHAMED
IT was
a rather laidback event when Asia Pacific Amateur
Golfers (APAG) held its first business club
gathering at the Sports Bar in Grand Blue Wave
Hotel Shah Alam last Friday.
Hosted by the hotel, whose general manager
also happens to be an APAG member, the business
club gathering was attended by 50 of APAG members
which were mostly made up of top management
people.
Those present had the opportunity to meet
fellow members and establish networking
opportunities in a fun and relaxing environment.
The evening started with a light buffet dinner
followed by some games that included miniature
golf, darts, karaoke sessions and lucky draws.
Throughout the event, APAG members took the
opportunity to get to know each other and even
discuss business possibilities.
According to APAGs Roger Lieu, the
gathering is one of the many privileges that
members can expect when joining the club.
Currently we have 6,500 members, all of
which joined through word of mouth, said
Lieu. This is the first time we are holding
a business club gathering and perhaps we will do
it bi-monthly.
Those who wish to join, membership is open for
RM888 (for single registration) or RM788 per
person (for double registration) per year.
Membership will stop when APAG hits 10,000
members.
As a member, benefits and privileges include
welcome gift, complimentary rounds of golf at
selected clubs, free lessons, discounted green
fees at more than 60 courses and free play in
Club Of The Day.
APAG also organises golf competitions every
month. APAG is owned and managed by RGT Sports
Sdn Bhd.
